Melody Cao ’26 (she/her)
Hello! I'm Melody Cao, I'm from Toronto, Canada, and I love to dance! It's been 12 years since I first fell in love with dance and it has taken me to so many incredible places. I'm trained in street styles related to hip-hop such as locking, popping, breaking, and house, as well as contemporary, jazz, ballet and tap. I started at a competitive dance studio, took a small break to switch to rhythmic gymnastics, and then ventured into the dance crew world. Growing up, I loved watching dance on television. Over the past several years, I finally achieved my dreams of being on television by becoming a professional dancer/actress in the film/TV and greater entertainment industry. I am very lucky to have been featured on Canada's Got Talent (2022), Netflix's 13: The Musical (2022), and The Next Step (2022), to name a few. As an actress, which is something I picked up (and love equally) along the way of becoming someone in the entertainment industry, I've starred in a feature film called Mustache (2023), which premiered at SXSW, a Netflix series called Grand Army (2020) and another short web series. Things have slowed down now that I'm focused on college, and I miss being on camera and exploring my art, but dance will never leave me. Always very happy to chat about anything related to dance, entertainment, film/TV, and being an artist! (p.s. I occasionally post dance videos on my Instagram @melodyycao if you want to check it out!)
