New Artist-in-Residence appointment!

The Signet is delighted to have Signet member Ezra Huang Stoller '15 back at the Hive for the coming school year as our sixth Artist-in-Residence.

After graduating, Ezra went to Peru for a year on a Trustman Traveling Fellowship to study the Chinese diaspora and lived with a Chinese Peruvian family in Lima. Ezra has studied Chinese brush painting and calligraphy for the past fifteen years with Joseph Yan and Janny Huang back in San Francisco, where he grew up. While in Peru, he worked on Chinese style paintings of Peruvian life at two artist residencies, one in the Andes, and another in the Amazon. At the Signet, Ezra will be writing and illustrating a book about the Chinese diaspora and his time in Peru, building on the paintings, sketches and writing he worked on while he was there.

As an undergrad, Ezra concentrated in Social Studies and wrote his thesis about senior homes in Beijing. Outside of class, he enjoyed doing improv with the Immediate Gratification Players, writing features for the Harvard Advocate, and coxswaining for the crew team.
